Professor Keith Nugent is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) for The Australian National University. Keith is a Director appointed to ANU Enterprise board in 2019. Keith is a world-renowned physics researcher and is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and systems to achieve the University’s strategic goals in research and innovation.
Before his ANU portfolio role, Keith was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at La Trobe University. Keith’s other prior academic and technical roles include Director of the Australian Synchrotron, Laureate Professor of Physics at the University of Melbourne, and Research Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coherent X-ray Science.
Keith has received the Victoria Prize for Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation, the Boas Medal of the Australian Institute of Physics, a Centenary Medal and two R&D100 Awards for Innovation.
