This online information session for ANU staff introduces what’s involved in developing, offering, and delivering a professional learning or executive education short course at Australian National University. ANU Enterprise will cover tips and tricks from experienced professional staff and academics. We provide an overview of what you’ll need to do and the support provided by ANU.

Summary:

Are you interested in using short courses and other educational experiences to build stronger links between university teaching, research, and broader engagement? Come and learn about how professional learning and executive education can serve as a revenue source and provide a valued and tangible point of engagement with industry and government.

Well-delivered professional learning enhances the University’s reputation and brand by showcasing and demonstrating its expertise to developing and established leaders. It can also help to foster collaboration between academia and industry, leading to knowledge exchange, research partnerships, and further consulting and research.

This workshop will cover:

· What is professional learning and executive education?

· Tenders and other proposals

· Marketing and client engagement

· Contacting and IP considerations

· Enrolments and Learning Management Systems

· How to customise your content for commercial audience and format

· Online and blended/hybrid delivery

· Quality and the student experience

· International groups: welfare, accommodation, and logistics

· Evaluation and continuous improvement

· Next Steps and ANU Support

Attendees that utilise ANU Enterprise training are under no obligation to use ANU Enterprise in the delivery of their Professional Learning service.

This FREE event will be held online via Zoom. A Zoom link will be added shortly.

Who should attend?

This event is for academics and professional staff at ANU who have little or no prior experience in developing and delivering professional learning in a commercial context and are interested in developing and offering short courses to government, industry, and individuals.
